Erik advises clients on a wide range of corporate matters, including entity formation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, contracts and agreements, succession planning, restructurings, and outside counsel review. He prides himself on delivering practical, solution-oriented legal counsel that supports his clients' daily operations and long-term goals.
He also serves as outside general counsel for a diverse mix of middle-market and family-owned businesses across industries such as manufacturing, telecommunications, and professional services. In this role, he provides legal guidance on corporate governance, contract negotiation, intellectual property protection, and dispute resolution. He also acts as a strategic adviser to executive teams and boards of directors, offering insight on critical business decisions, corporate governance best practices, shareholder relations, high-level strategic initiatives, risk management, and compliance.
In addition to his general counsel work, he regularly advises private companies on complex M&A transactions, managing all phases from deal structuring and LOI negotiation to due diligence, purchase agreement drafting, and post-closing integration. Further, he assists clients on commercial agreements, including supply chain contracts, licensing arrangements, joint ventures, buy-sell agreements, and master service agreements.
In 2026, Erik joined Cozen O'Connor along with his colleagues from Moss & Barnett. Earlier, he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in its tax and transfer pricing group. In that role, he learned to understand the operational side of clients’ businesses and how to better align operations with company objectives.
Erik holds a B.A. from Bethel University and a J.D., cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, coaching youth sports, and water skiing.
