Nadine Menendez Sentenced to 54-Month Prison in Bribery Conspiracy Case [New York Law Journal]

A Manhattan federal judge on September 11 sentenced Nadine Menendez, wife of former Senator Bob Menendez, to 54 months in prison, following Mrs. Menendez’s conviction at trial earlier this year in a federal corruption case. Mrs. Menendez faced an advisory sentencing guidelines range of approximately 17.5 - 22 years in prison, but thanks to the great work of our team – including Sarah Krissoff, Karen Williams, Catherine Yun, and Andrew Vazquez – she received a significantly reduced sentence.

Andrew focuses his practice on business litigation. He has experience handling litigation matters, including white-collar defense, internal investigations, and commercial litigation in federal and state court.

Before joining the firm, Andrew was an associate at a full-service firm in New York, where he practiced litigation, participating in complex white-collar and government investigations.

Andrew interned for the New York Civil Liberties Union during law school on its Voting Rights Project. He also interned for the Honorable Lorna Schofield of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and the Honorable Claire Cecchi of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.

In 2022, Andrew earned his J.D. magna cum laude from Fordham University School of Law, where he was a member of the Fordham Urban Law Journal, a co-founder of the Voting Rights & Democracy Forum, and on the advisory board of the Voting Rights and Democracy Project. Andrew graduated from American University in 2017, where he studied political science with a concentration on  American government.

In a sentencing memo filed on August 22, Nadine Menendez, wife of former U.S. Senator Bob Menendez, asked for leniency and argued that a penalty of one year and one day would be an appropriate punishment when she is sentenced in September for taking bribes in exchange for arranging political favors from her powerful husband.
