Matt represents clients in complex civil disputes, including insurance coverage disputes, in trial and appellate courts nationwide. Matt has experience representing insurers, educational institutions, and Fortune 100 companies in litigation involving commercial disputes, product liability, premises liability, subrogation, copyright and patent infringement, legal malpractice, employment disputes, and mass tort.
Prior to joining Cozen O'Connor, Matt was a partner in the Dallas office of another Am Law 100 firm. Before entering private practice, Matt served as a briefing attorney in the chambers of Justice William J. Boyce of the Texas Fourteenth Court of Appeals, as well as an extern to both the Honorable Sam R. Cummings of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas and the Honorable Chief Justice Terrie Livingston of the Second Court of Appeals of Texas.
Matt earned his J.D., summa cum laude and Order of the Coif, from Texas Tech University School of Law, where he was an articles editor of Texas Tech Law Review as well as the Estate Planning & Community Property Law Journal. He earned his B.B.A., magna cum laude, from Texas Tech University.
